Limp Bizkit Week: Shady Goings On

Photobucket

Little known fact: Eminem & Limp Bizkit used to be the best of buddies. No, really. First of all, Fred was one of the people who signed Slim Shady to Interscope. They also worked on an Eminem/Limp Bizkit EP that was never released.

On one of the songs, Em threw shots at Everlast, who Fred was good friends with. Fred distanced himself from the track, took Everlast's side & it all spiraled out of control after that.

It's been a minute since we heard Sov, but she's been busy working on a new mixtape & album, both due out this year.

This is her first single, sampling the Cure & demonstrating her way with hooks. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but don't forget Sov always has a catchy single & leaves the lyrical stuff on the album.

Look out for more news on the LP soon.

So happy am I with the recent return of Limp Bizkit, that I am making this week Limp Bizkit Week. I'll be posting classic & rare stuff from the guys all week :)

I know, I know, every other blog posted this days ago, but I don't care.

I don't usually post dubstep, cos I don't really like it, but this tune is just amazing.

This lovely lady is Stoya. She's part of the Digital Playground family. If you know what I'm talking about, then I don't have to explain myself. If you don't, this is probably not for you.

If you, vote for her to on the cover of next month's Front magazine:

After being the only independent artist ever allowed to officially remix a Kanye West song, Collin Munroe made a huge name for himself in the R&B scene.
He's back, with a star studded mixtape & debut album out this year. This first single sees him in fine form alongside dirty south rap legend Young Buck.

If You Believe, They Put A Man On The Moon

Remember agggeessss ago Kid Cudi went on a huge tangent about how his video sucked & that he was making a new version?

And then... nothing happened.

Well, here's what we've been waiting for.

Much Ado About Budden

Photobucket

I'm just gonna come out & say it: Joe Budden is the nicest MC out right now. He's iller than Lil Wayne (by miles) & has bars for days. On a bad day, he can stand toe to toe with Jay-Z at his prime or even Eminem for that matter.

This joint from his upcoming & hugely anticipated new album only furthers that argument.

So, after a proposed mixtape with Bobby Creek that never happened, Mobb Deep member Alchemist returns with this, chilled out track. The vocal features Maxwell (?!) & Twista, but to be honest I much rather prefer this instrumental. Not, his best, but it will do til the album drops.

This is awesome. Judging by this & the first single (leaked earlier this month), this album is gonna rock.

Damn.

After sitting through many hours of this fine show until the wee hours of the night, I finally finished The Wire boxset. I don't think it would be an overstatement to call it the finest show on television.

*Sigh* I'm gonna miss it.

It's A Little Planet After All...

Little Big Planet has taken the gaming world by storm. With its innovative game play, stunning visuals & endless playability, it's been one of the biggest success stories of the ps3 to date.

Now, action figure giant Mezco announce they will be releasing figures based on the games hero, Sackboy.

They should be out in the Spring & will feature tons of alternate designs.

First Blink, now LB? Sweet :)

The original line-up of Limp Bizkit is back, do you believe in miracles? If so, then you can believe Limp Bizkit is back to do it ALL again! Album! Tour! Worldwide!

(New York, NY) February 12, 2009 – The original line-up of Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto, and DJ Lethal are back from an eight year hiatus to bring their world back to ours. Fred Durst and Wes Borland said in a joint statement:

"We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other. Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back."

Video: Lloyd Banks-On Fire

Now, I'm a G-Unit stan, so perhaps I'm biased, but this to me is classic material. That Kwame/ Eminem beat, the flow, it's just dope! & it was back int he day when the Unit was one big family. Hell, Young Buck & The Game are in this video. And it switches into Warrior, one of Banks' best songs.

*sigh* I miss those days.

The Mack Is Back

This is so weird. I bumped into Mark Morrison the other day (Seriously). Then get home to read an e-mail that he has a new album coming out.

The Album will be a remixed & reformated version of his 2006 LP An Innocent Man. As such, he will be re-releasing the first single which features DMX. It's nice to hear new music from either of these two.

No Man Is An Island

Photobucket

The Lonely Island have pretty much saved comedy. Whether you've heard of them or not, you've probably laughed at their work without realizing it.

After launching their own site years ago, they were then hired to save SNL & created their own cult movie Hot Rod.

This year, the group will be releasing their debut album, featuring hilarious first single "Jizz In My Pants" & the instant classic Justin Timberlake featured, "Dick In A Box".

Over here, the album will be out next Monday, support it.

Who Cares?

Photobucket

The above photo has been causing quite a fuss recently. As you can see, Ms. Jessica Simpson has put on a bit of weight.

Now, as you and I know, that's no big deal. But the type of imbeciles that read Heat Magazine & the like are making a fuss & snickering she'll never be invited to fashion week.

There's still no cure for cancer or aids, global warming is a real threat & our youth are killing each other on the streets. & this is what people waste their time on? If you are going to pursue trivial matters, at least enjoy something fun. Why our society takes such pleasure in ridiculing & belittling others, I do not know.

Far as I'm concerned, she looks beautiful. Now, let's move on, shall we ? :)

Lil Wayne- Ay Man (Featuring Pharrell)

It's another new track by Pharrell & Lil Wayne. And yes, it's good, but once again he should have given the beat to Clipse.

In case you're wondering why Fam-Lay's pic is up, the rumour is he wrote P's verse. Kinda makes sense when you listen. If you don't know who Fam-Lay is, you're sleeping.

Despite his troubles, George Michael remains one the most gifted soul singers the world has ever known. Even his old pop material for Wham! holds up today, as demonstrated in this remix by London producer Paul White.

Credit Where It's Due

They get a lot of stick, but UK rap group N-Dubz work incredibly hard & tend to not get involved in any of the bickering/beef that usually plagues their peers.

They've recently gone platinum , making them the first UK rap group to do so (unless you count Blazin Squad. And I don't). Congrats to them & here's hoping their future is just as bright.

Why, Sem, Why?!

So, instead of promoting UK rap like any regular UK rap DJ would, Semtex is telling the Americans that the UK is run by the Funky House scene & this is an anthem:

Now, whilst I'll admit it's a great track, an anthem?! I don't even know anyone who listens to funky. Once again, Wale has remixed it. I love Wale, but this doesn't even seem worth it.

It Was All A Dream...

The-Dream is a genius. You already know this. I cannot sing his praises enough. He has a new album out soon entitled Love Vs. Money. If you are smart, you will buy two copies. One for you & one for a friend.

Give Em Hell!

Photobucket

Whilst they've never matched the hit making brilliance of "Swing, Swing" or the album it came from, The All American Rejects are still worthy of attention & their latest single has seen them return with a bang.
Here, the brilliant Bloody Beetroots work their magic as usual.

The All-American Rejects- Gives You Hell (The Bloody Beetroots Remix)

He's bacccckkkkkk!!!

The flow is surprisingly good, I must say. It's a shame he had to spoil it all with that little speech at the end about him shooting someone. But, anyhoo, I'm now looking forward to hearing what the new albums sounds like.

On a side note, it's interesting that Pharrell is now doing dubstep & Soulja Boy is doing grime.
