Lil Wayne- Ay Man (Featuring Pharrell)

It's another new track by Pharrell & Lil Wayne. And yes, it's good, but once again he should have given the beat to Clipse.

In case you're wondering why Fam-Lay's pic is up, the rumour is he wrote P's verse. Kinda makes sense when you listen. If you don't know who Fam-Lay is, you're sleeping.

1) Yes, this as dope as you think it is
2) No, it's not as good as it would have been had Clipse spit on it

I CAN'T FEEL MY FACE!!

Photobucket

Juelz Santana & Lil Wayne have been promising us a joint album for close to four years now & after much hype & a few teasers (including standout tracks on Dedication 2 & Tha Carter III), the first two singles have leaked. I'll be posting the second in the near future, but in the meantime, check out this, the self titled debut single. All I can say is ...damn. Well worth the wait.

Plus, it gives me an excuse to post this:

The song of the year is here!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Swagger Like Us is the recently leaked single from T.I.'s eargerly anticipated new album Paper Trail. It is incredible for several reasons:

• Having parted ways with Timbaland, Kanye has reverted back to his old school tinny drums & they sound brilliant
• Apparently, M.I.A. re-recorded her vocals & that's not a sample. The only thing that would make this better is a full verse from her. Maybe on the remix?
• Isn't this the best verse you ever heard from T.I.?
• Jigga's verse is just another reminder Blueprint3 is on the way!

These Albums Will Change Your Life

Photobucket
Lil Wayne- Tha Carter III
OK, so I still hate Lil Wayne as a person, but that's besides the point. This is fire. There are actually no tracks of any substance or any semblance of structure on this LP. However, there is incredible wordplay, daft one liners ("I be wildin' like Capital One/What is in your wallet?!") & confusing similes ("if I don't know the answer, it's probably on the web like I'm a damn Tarantula"). The production is top notch (two Kanye West beats, tracks by The Alchemist, Swizz Beats & more), the guests outstanding (career defining verses from Fabolous & Juelz Santana) & it's all brilliant fun. Pick up asap, my friend.

N*E*R*D-Seeing Sounds
Concept albums rarely ever deliver nowadays (American Gangster wasn't really a concept album & A Grand Don't Come For Free wasn't that strong), so my expectations of this (an album about Pharell's real life struggle with Synthanesia)weren't that high. Add to that, N*E*R*D's last album was the rather underwhelming Fly Or Die & this wasn't looking like album of the year. But boy, did they prove me wrong.
Seeing Sounds blends all the best elements of traditional Neptunes with drum n bass, classic rap & much more. Both Pharrell & Shae have stepped up the bars & the album is incredibly cohesive. There are a few stinkers, but the bangers more than make up for it. Star Trak is most definitely back.

Sucks to be Lil Wayne..

Just when it seemed this arragont, self obsessed substance abuse addict could do no wrong, he went & pulled a baddd move. In a recent interview with Foundation (a mixtape magaazine), Lil Wayne said (basically) "f**ck mixtape DJs".

After a HUGE bkaclash this week (including several diss videos & a moutain of leaks released with the intent to hurt his sales), Wayne spoke up & said he was only going at The Empire, a mixtape DJ made famous due to his countless mixtapes of leaked Wayne material. So far,no-one's buying it.

Told y'all,huh?
