Rosco P. Coldchain

Rosco P is a member of Pharrell's Star Trak family & has appeared on tracks with Clipse, The Lox, Kelis & Kanye West to name a few. His as yet untitled debut album has been in development for some time but will hopefully be seeing the light of day in 2009. He is also a Def Poetry Jam winner. Check two of his best jams out:

Freezi is a Raw Riddim Records affiliated grime MC. He was formerly a member of Ghetto Supreme & X.Caliber & has been associated with other crews. He raps & produces as well (his productions credits include some of my tracks). He has a mixtape coming out soon including some of the biggest names in the scene, but until that drops, check two classic freestyles:

Swagger Like Us is the recently leaked single from T.I.'s eargerly anticipated new album Paper Trail. It is incredible for several reasons:

• Having parted ways with Timbaland, Kanye has reverted back to his old school tinny drums & they sound brilliant
• Apparently, M.I.A. re-recorded her vocals & that's not a sample. The only thing that would make this better is a full verse from her. Maybe on the remix?
• Isn't this the best verse you ever heard from T.I.?
• Jigga's verse is just another reminder Blueprint3 is on the way!

Janelle Monáe is one to watch!



I actually discovered Ms. Monáe before I started this blog, but after one of her tracks popped up on my iPod, it occurred to me that I should spread the good word.

Janelle is an Oukast protege & is now signed to the house that Diddy built. You can already cop her tracks on iTunes & if you're smart, you'll log on now & buy her album for $5.99(!)

DJ clue revealed at the start of the year that the Blueprint was underway & then allll sort sof rumors began. Timbaland himself claimed he was producing the entire project, Pharrell also hinted & some claimed it was Premier. Now it looks like it's gonna be Kanye & Jigga actually sounds hungry again. This could the album to keep rap going until Detox arrives.

Yeah, I know what you're about to say: "Another greatest hits??!". Well, unlike Number Ones, Essential or even Michael Jackson & The Jackson 5, this will have a tracklist voted for by fans! Also, work on the new album is nearly complete. Whilst details are stil scarce, these things have been confirmed: There will be production from Will. I. Am & Akon amongst others & it's being co-written by Ne-Yo! The first single is "Hold My Hand" a duet with Akon, that leaked 2 weeks ago.

Also,Roberto Cavalli confirmed that not only is the comeback tour officially underway, but that he's designing the costumes! Sweet!.
