AHA!!

Don't get me wrong, I love Pharrell & I love Jadakiss, but they just don't work together. They've tried about 4 or 5 times now & apart from the Supercat collaboration, they haven't been very good. Maybe I just don't get it, but the new track hasn't bowled me over either:

At least there's a new track with Nas. And apart from the fact it is the exact same concept as "Why", It aint half bad.

He actually did it. Nasir realized if Def Jam wouldn't let him release a legit album called N*gger, he would just release a mixtape! And boy, does he go in.

Nas continues to garner attention & controversy (because we keep paying attention!) with the launch of his currently untitled album. He recently screened the video for launch single "Be A N*gger Too". Apparently, it's amazing. I'll reserve judgement til it leaks.


when trying to explain what Nas had name his new album, I didn't want to actually say it to my mate Dave,so I said "the N word". Dave mistook me & thought that I meant the album was literally called The N Word & said how clever it was. When I corrected him, we both laughed & I realized he was right. Calling the album The N Word would get Nas a lot less hassle. Whilst it may not be the exact same title, the rumour mil is suggesting Nas is going to title the album N. We'll see what happens...

Things I (Don't) Like

Do you see that tee? I own this. I had to go through so much hassle to get one. I called people at Def Jam I haven't spoken to in years. I got a white one & sent it back. I made calls, e-mails. (I had a lot of time on my hands, but that's besides the point)

I wanted to wear it in support of Nas, whom the t-shirt promotes. You'd be ashamed to wear this, right? Which is exactly Nas' point. Why do we continue to address each other by a derogatory term which it would shame us to be named by others?

Nas claimed that he was titling his new album "Nigger" in an attempt to talk about the word & the issues surrounding it. A lot of people doubted him, but I stayed faithful, hoping for an intelligent release from this often inconsistent, self proclaimed "prophet".

Yesterday, it was announced that Nas had caved to label pressure & was going to be releasing a self titled album instead.

In the unlikely event this ever gets back to Nas: You are a coward. If you set out to do something, see it through. You let a lot of people down with this one.
