Busta's back!!

While it's unclear whether he's going to go 100% gangsta like on "The Big Bang" or whether it's funny old school style, these two videos make me smile. 1)Old school Busta is the best & he's gone back to that style on this brilliant vid. 2) Any new Linkin Park is good. Enjoy :)

Guilty Pleasures

We all have em. The tracks we keep secretly hidden on our iPods. Well, I've had enough of keeping mine hidden! No longer shall I be embaressed! Behold, my secret shame:

Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles

Everyone I know says they hate this song. But as with most Murder Inc artists (Ja Rule, Ashanti), you have to ask yourself: if no-one likes her, how does she keep going platinum?! Anyway, this song is beautiful.

Billy Idol - Eyes Without a Face
Billy Idol is the man. "White Wedding", "Rebel Yell"? Incredible. I'm covering this song on my next album, so before that drops, here's the original for you:

I really like the Lighthouse Family. Like, I own both albums. My wifey rips me for it (she has a point,to be fair), but I think they're brilliant. And as such, I'm posting not one, but two of their vids. Both awful, but the tunes are amazing.

Loving Every Minute- Lighthouse Family

Goodbye Heartbreak

Wiley Vs Foxes, the saga continues...

If you read the Sun, you probably don't have enough intelligence to read my blog, so my average readers probably won't know about this. After Wiley decided not to star in the abomination of a video that was "Wearing My Rolex", The Sun printed a story saying he was scared of foxes. Cue this rebutal from Wiley Kat:

Everything about that is amazing. But the most amazing thing is the fact he's serious. Thank God for crazy MCs eh?

It's a good year to be a geek

The Iron Man Movie, Spirit on the way. And now this...

Think I just wet myself

The emperor isn't wearing any clothes!

I was gonna let this go, but it's gotten to the point it's ridiculous now. Are we still playing the game where we pretend Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive?

He is nowhere near. You cannot be the greatest at something if so many people are better at it than you. Does that make sense?

Allow me to demonstrate
Storytelling
I don't actually think I've ever heard him tell a story, so that's one point down anyway, but here's 5 emcees that would school Dwayne on how to spin a yarn.
1. Slick Rick. He basically invented story telling in rap. Take a seat
2.Ghostface. Voices, amazing flows, he has it all & gets you really involved
3.Fort Minor. "Spray Paint & Ink Pens" basically murks Lil Wayne's entire back catalogue. Nuff said
4.Eminem. Kim? Stan? I could go on, he does everything to keep you entertained & he makes it look easy.
5.Redman Reggie could actually be in every catergory in this post & that's something you can never say for Wayne.

Raw Rap Style
When it comes to hot 16s, Weezy has fair few, but he cannot compete with this lot:
1.Jadakiss. A man who has held his own on tracks with Jay-Z, Biggie, 2pac, Eminem...I could go on. Needless to say, Wayne wouldn't last 5 bars against J-to-the-mwah.
2.Aasim. Bad Boy's hidden weapon would make short work of Wayne without braking a sweat.
3.Pusha T. With bars for days, similies, metaphors & other gramatical devices in his arsenal, Pusha is a force to be wreckoned with. Plus, he's already schooled Wayne once on record.
4.Saigon. Raw raps, blazing wordplay & a voice that doesn't grate on you like Wayne's, Saigon has been serving MCs for years now. Wayne's just not in his league
5.Obie Trice. One of the most underrated MCs in the game, Trice has gone toe to toe with Benzino, Ja Rule & more & walked away unscathed. If you ever doubted Detroit was real, you only have to listen to his bars.

Singles
A true MC can make the club bounce & still spit heat. Wayne's singles just make me ill
1.50 Cent. No matter how much people hate Fiddy, they can't help but sing along. "In Da Club", "I Get Money", "Stunt 101". C'mon, Fif does it in his sleep
2.Jay-Z."Big Pimpin'", "Jigga What, Jigga Who", "Izzo". Wayne doesn't have one hit that comes close. & he could try for another decade & he still wouldn't.
3.Fabolous. "Breathe", "Make Me Better", "Can't Deny It". These are club staples & brilliant examples of lyrcisim in commercial rap. Wayne should be taking notes.
4.N.O.R.EHe showed us all how to rhyme of Neptunes beats & was the first international star of Reggaeton. Papi Nore is the man.
5.Young Jeezy. When he wasn't "Hustlin" on a remix, he was tellin us "I Luv It". All the while, keeping the clubs jumping. And "Go Crazy"? One of Jigga's best song's in years!

So go on then, tell me I'm wrong?...

I'm gonna be rocking the Social, so make sure you're there. BIG lineup. You know Goldie don't do things small time!

The press know...

Who's that handsome fellow in the new Time Out?...

:) What a nice start to the day

Further proof that R.Kelly has lost his effin mind..

Any man that can created a 23 (24?) chapter epic like Trapped In The Closet is obviously a genius. However, he is also a paedophile ("alleged", I don't need a lawsuit) & freakin bonkers. Remember the McDonalds drive thru incident? The Pied Piper mask? (Need I remind you, the Pied Piper was followed around by kids?)

This dude is crazy, why is he not in jail yet? I'll tell you why. Because everytime we get mad at him, he makes an amazing jam and we forget.

Long Live Timbo!

Because of this, people are saying Timbo fell off:

..What the f**k are you talking about?! He's Timbaland, he can't fall off! Here's 14 reasons why:

Artists
Timbo has an amazing ear for talent. Here's a gang of people he worked with before anyone else did:
1)Ludacris. Timbo wanted to sign him,but it didn't work out. Nevertheless, there's been a track by Tim on every one of Luda's albums.
2)Petey Pablo. Before joining Death Row,this southern spitter killed countless Timmy intsros, including "Raise Up". A party starter if ever I heard one.
3)Bubba Sparxxx. A guy that could go toe to toe with Jadakiss on a track ("They're Not Ready") has got to have skills right? Well,Tim thought so as he signed him to Beat Club & scored a monster hit with "Ugly". Later went on to join Outkast on Purple Ribbon Records.
4)Aaliyah. It sounds so obvious, but everyone forgets. They took chances together & changed the sound of RnB (& to a greater extent, pop music in general) forever.
5)Missy Elliot. She would go on to have Adidas endorsement deals & star in dance movies, but before all that, Timmy saved her career. Not caring how she looked, only how she sounded, Tim gave Missy the most original beats heard in rap in years. He then gave birth to one of the illest female MCs the game has ever seen. The rest is Grammy winning history.

Albums
He ofter gets credited with dope singles, but people forget he can create entire albums of fire

Photobucket
Missy Elliot-Da Real World
Ever wondered what Eminem would sound like on a Timbo beat? It's on this album. And it's incredible. As are the other tracks on this LP. "Hot Boyz", "All N My Grill" (with MC Solar), the list goes on. The sounds are incredible. The tunes catchy. This is what modern rap music should sound like.

Photobucket
Bubbz Sparxxx-Deliverance
Every generation has slept on albums. The classics that never got their deserved acclaim. Deliverance is just such an album. If I told you there was a country-rap album, you would probably cringe. But Tim & Bubba pull this off with such spectacular skill,it's unreal. Amazing lyricism, groundbreaking production & ideas ahead of their time (Justin Timberlake was on this before he went solo). Bubba will never get his place amongst Hip-Hop's elite. And that's a shame, cos on this evidence, he deserves it.

Photobucket
Nelly Furtado - Loose
She started out all quirky with plenty of catchy tunes to boot. But when the quirky style took over, she lost the catchiness. Along came Tim to the rescue with a slew of colabos that showed how well they worked together ("Turn Off The Light", "Ching Ching" & "Get Ur Freak On (Remix)". Seeing they were on to a winning formula, he signed her and the result is one the best R&B albums of the past 10 years. Tim scores again.

Photobucket
Kiley Dean - Simple Girl
You've probably never heard this, but it's brilliant. What if you mixed the good parts of old school Britney with the good parts of old school Aaliyah/SWV? You'd get Kiley Dean. Beautiful voice, banging beats from Tim & very cohesive. Unfortunately, the first single bombed & Interscope scrapped the albuma as a result. Another wasted talent on their roster.

Beats [5 Timbo beats that all sound different, but all sound amazing]
1.Aaliyah-More Than A Woman
2.Limp Bizkit-Rearranged
3.Nelly Furtado-Say It Right/Do It (Both bangers!)
4.D.O.E.-Rollin'
5.Kanye West-Stronger

On The Old Shcool Tip...

Summer's on its way & if you're like me you're gonna sit outside with the iPod on & take it all in. Whether you're listening on your MP3 players on bumping em on your car stero, here's my list of classic Summer bangers:

Soul For Real-Candy Rain

I'm pretty loved up right now,so I'm feeling a lot of RnB. In fact,if my voice wasn't so bad,I would serenade my lady with this! :P

SWV-Right Here/Human Nature (Featuring Michael Jackson & Pharrell)
If thisn't classic, I don't know what is. With Teddy Riley,MJ & Skateboard P on production, a lil rap from P & Mike on backing vocals, this just sounds amazing. Crank it loud :)

The Pharcyde-Runnin'

I remember listening to this whilst my mum drove around in Summer. J Dilla's incredible production & the groups amazing flows. This whole album is classic. sorry for this upload, but Youtube won't let you embed the official vid :(

New Edition-Hot 2Nite

I hate the fact they call themselves New Edition when Bobby's not in the group, but whatever. Another banger. Not nearly as good as 50/G-Unit's cover version released a few backs, but still great.

Wasssstteeeman!

Photobucket

So, Goldielocks releases her new single "Wasteman" on Monday & last night was the launch night. What can I say? "shower" doesn't even cover it.
The Death Set did an amazing set of metal/rap/techno/pure madness which included a mini mosh pit, scaling the bar walls & lots of mad screaming. Then this man spun some tunes:

Photobucket

I duno who homeboy is,but his selction was tight. Everything from Timbo & Missy (when they were good),to Bangers & Cash to EPMD. Shower set if ever I saw one.

Then Goldie came on & straight merked it. With some assistance from Jackson Kid, she performed "Wasteman" (of course), "Neek Chic" & "Y U BVA". She had the whole crowd singing along & she just generally tore it down.
Her husband Jason came on next & oh my days. He opened with "Ps & Qs" & followed it with "No Qualms". I nearly swung for someone!! The set was too big.

Best night I've had in ages. Go support your girl & cop the single

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you, you are in fact witnessing the most incredible cap in history. I will reveal where I found these bad boys, but only after I've purchased one!
Photobucket
(http://www.passarella.co.uk/) Mixing Disney & Porn should be wrong. But instead, it turns out to be a great mix of two brilliant things. Like putting Nerds on ice cream. Mmmmm...
Photobucket
..And another strong contender for dopest cap of the year. Marvel & New Era have smashed it with their colloborations for the past few years & this series is no execption. Can't wait to rock this.
Photobucket
It's a DS. And A Korg. This is quite frankly the greatest thing that ever could have happened in history. Ever. For more info, visit: http://www.aqi.co.jp/product/ds10/en/index.html And finally...

The reason I got into comics in the first place was Will Eisner's The Spirit. Incredibly well written, beautiful drawn, it was just years ahead of its time. Now, Lionsgate pictures are turning it into a film written & directed by Frank Miller and starring Samuel L.,Scarlett Johansson,Eva Mendes & Jamie King. Cannot wait for this.

Time To Get Soppy

This is Nicole Le-Surf:
Photobucket

She's professionally known as Buzzta. She's responsible for the sickest custom garms on road today. You may have seen her handiwork on: Yes Sir Idol, Macc Mello,Goldielocks,FrankMusic, Tic Tac & yours truly, just to name a few. I've been lucky enough to not just work with on a professional level, but also as a friend.

I don't think I know a single person who is not aware of my choice of career. Now, some people are always there to support & some people aren't. In the short time I've known her, Nicole has been one of those people that are. She's always honest, gives me feedback & cheers me up when I need it. I know you're probably rolling your eyes reading this (& she's probably gonna kill me when she sees it), but I have never been happier & I'm extremely lucky that I get to call such a wonderful woman my girlfriend.

If you find someone that makes you this happy-never let em go! & if you already have that person, make sure they know

What You Been On, Son?

Man, I thought my blog game was tight, but honestly I've been slipping. Having to much fun tryna be a party animal, you see. When I was a kid,I stayed in & read comic books & now, when I should be working, I'm unemployed & going out all the time! Oh, what to do....
Photobucket
Well,I should probably start by letting you know what I've been on.

Music
I've been working with a slew of different producers on the 2nd volume of my mixtape & leme tell you, it's gonna be BIG. How big, I hear you say? How about production from Swizz Beats, Goldielocks, Glamour Soundsystem, Lillica Libertine & more? Plus an exclsuive remix of "Stronger" by Kanye West? Nope-didn't think you were ready!

I'm producing tracks for Tic-Tac's upcoming debut as well executive production on Jai Michele's debut LP & Freezi's new mixtape "A Lil Glance".

Video
First up Freezi is working on a DVD/CD called "F.B.I.". I'm not atcually sure where the title came from, but who am I to question his logic? It'll fetaure him & various MCs natiownide freestyling & battling etc.

And my debut video "MaDnEsS" will be out. Fetauring all sorts of amazing animation & cmaery trickery, courtesy of this clever fella:
